Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes information handled by Truck Calculator through truckcalculator.org and its trucking calculators. It is based on the features present in the site implementation reviewed on October 22, 2026. The identity and practices of the eventual hosting provider, any later integrations, and the production domain configuration must be reviewed separately before launch.

Information processed when you use a calculator

When you submit a calculation, the values you enter are sent to the site’s calculation endpoint so it can return the requested result. The normal calculation path uses those values to calculate a response and does not intentionally save the submitted values as a calculation history. Calculator identifiers and release information are also used to select the applicable calculation.

For rate limiting and abuse prevention, calculator endpoints derive a short-lived request identity from the connecting IP address. The application stores a hashed form of that address in rate-limit records; the web host or other infrastructure may separately process connection data in its own logs. The site’s host-level log fields and retention schedule have not been independently confirmed.

Feedback and technical diagnostics

If you use “Report a problem,” the site receives the issue type and any message you submit, together with limited context such as the calculator identifier and version, page path, and relevant input-field paths. The feedback feature does not send the entered calculation values. User-submitted feedback is stored for review; the current implementation does not specify an automatic deletion period for ordinary feedback.

Some calculation or validation errors may generate a technical diagnostic. These records can include a calculator and release identifier, an error category, a field path, validation details, and a request identifier. They are intended to troubleshoot the calculator and are not designed to include the raw value entered into a field. The default diagnostic-retention setting is 90 days, subject to the maintenance process running.

PDF access and email

When you choose the clean PDF option, the PDF access form requires an email address and sends it with the calculator identifier, release, page path, and consent status to the site. The calculator inputs are also sent to the PDF-generation endpoint so it can produce the document. The email is used to issue access to the clean PDF and the site stores a PDF lead record. A separate checkbox lets you request occasional tool updates; that choice is optional, recorded separately from the PDF request, and requires email verification.

The default retention setting for PDF lead records is 365 days. The site has a scheduled maintenance process for cleanup, but actual deletion depends on that process running. If you request removal or have a question about a record, contact admin@truckcalculator.org.

Cookies and similar technologies

The public calculators do not require an account. WordPress authentication and security cookies may be used when an administrator or other authorized user signs in. The reviewed site code did not contain a configured third-party analytics or advertising tag. This statement does not describe cookies or logs that may be set by the hosting provider, a browser, or a service added after this review.

Telemetry and third parties

Behavioral calculator telemetry was disabled in the reviewed test-site settings. The calculator implementation includes optional feedback, PDF, and diagnostic services described above. If a third-party service is later added, this policy should be updated to identify the service, the information it receives, and its role before that feature is used publicly.

Links to external websites take you to services operated by others. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. A link does not mean Truck Calculator controls or endorses that site’s data handling.

Retention and security

PDF lead and diagnostic records have configurable retention defaults described above. Feedback submitted directly by a visitor does not currently have an automatic deletion period defined in the reviewed implementation. Temporary rate-limit records expire after their configured request window. Hosting-provider logs and backup retention are controlled outside the calculator application and have not been confirmed.

The site uses technical controls intended to limit misuse and protect its operation. No website or transmission method can be represented as risk-free, and this policy does not promise absolute security.

Your requests

Depending on where you live and which privacy law applies, you may have rights concerning personal information. You can send an access, correction, or deletion request to admin@truckcalculator.org. We may need to verify the request and will handle it under applicable law. Do not email passwords or sensitive shipment or financial-account information.

Children

Truck Calculator is intended for people evaluating trucking and fleet operations and is not designed for children. Please contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal information through a site feature.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when site features or data practices change. The latest version will be posted at truckcalculator.org/privacy/ with its revision date. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to admin@truckcalculator.org.
